First Festival of World Music in Djerba from 28 September to 2 October

Djerba is hosting a Festival of World Music from 28 September to 2nd October 2011.

Festival director, Hamadi Sharif, told TAP, the festival aims to promote the music of several countries and offer different styles: classical, traditional, medieval and contemporary music. The virtuoso pianist Pier Paolo Strona (Italy) will open the show with a colourful Jazzy musical repetoire.

On September 29th, In this superb framework of Dar Cherif, the audience will attend a concert entitled ”Cadences Bedouin”  by Walid Gharbi and his band and on September 30th, an evening of classical music with Italian Pier Paolo Strona.

Then it will be the turn of Corsican music and songs of Brame di Corsica which will light up the stage of Dar Chérif on October 1. The Italian artist Paolo Lova will close the festival on October 2 with an evening of medieval music. Rates vary between 15, 20 and 25 dinars and 70 dinars will provide access to all concerts.
