Media & Internet 4M Symposium, 12 & 13 January 2012, Tunis

Canal France International (CFI), the Tunisian Association of Digital Freedom (ATLN), the Association of Media and Audiovisual (amavis) and Tunisia-Live, host a symposium Media and Internet 4M in Tunis on 12 and 13 January 2012, the eve of the anniversary of the departure of former dictator Ben Ali.

The aim of the event is to promote the sharing of experiences and innovations to support the development of new Tunisian media. Nearly 500 participants from France and Tunisia are expected to attend.

The plenary speeches alternate with a series of lectures and workshops focused on experiences. Many renowned Tunisian and French speakers will share their experiences such as:

• Edwy Plenel, co-founder of Media Share and former managing editor of “The World”

• Ziad Maalouf, journalist and producer Radio France International

• Pierre Haski, president and co-founder of Rue89

• Francis Pisani, author and journalist

• Emna Menif, politician

• Zyed Krichen, managing editor of the newspaper “The Maghreb”

The program will consist of four plenary sessions:

- Evolution of Tunisian media, from journalism of dictatorship to journalism of the citizens.

- Bloggers, cyber activists, hackers Tunisia: The End of secrets

- New Tunisia, New Media, New Models

- Media, Society, and OpenData OpenGov
