New Car Ferry ‘Tanit’ coming into service 2012

Tunisian Shipping Company (CTN) announced the start of booking for the 2012 high season from January 24, 2012 in all travel agencies that deal with CTN in Tunisia and Europe and also on its Web site: www.ctn.com.tn.

The new car ferry “Tanit” will come into service this year on the regular lines of Marseilles and Genoa, it indicated. “Tanit” will offer a capacity of 3,200 passengers and 1,060 vehicles African Manager reports.

The company will operate 150 ship crossings in summer season (from June 20 to September 15), including 75 on the Marseilles line onboard “Tanit” (42 crossings) and “Carthage” (33 crossings).

The capacity offered by these crossings is 207,300 passengers and 67,000 vehicles. The 75 other crossings will be operated on the Genoa line with 199,500 passengers and 64,000 vehicles onboard “Tanit” (34 crossings) and “Carthage” (41 crossings).

The capacity offered on these two lines will increase by 4% compared to 2011.
