Tunis & Djerba Airports will strike 17 & 18 January 2012

Submitted by on January 7, 2012 – 8:52 pmNo Comment | 225 views

After the recent strikes by Transtu officers and railway workers that paralyzed the transport sector, the Union of Tunisian Workers (UTT) continues to focus industrial action on this strategic sector.

The trade union organization, founded by former Secretary General of the UGTT Ismail Sahbani, announced a strike of all workers and managers of the Office of Civil Aviation and Airports (OACA) at airports Tunis-Carthage and Djerba-Zarzis, 17 and 18 January.

According to UTT, the strike was motivated by “the failure of trade union rights, as well as the bias of the administration” which according to them, “agrees to listen to some parts while ignoring others.”
