Tourism in sousse Occupation rate of 110%
Sousse is a city of Tunisia located 140km south of Tunis; it is in the central _east of the country .sousse is home to many resorts and fine sand beaches backed by orchads and olive groves .tourism has become a central activity , with some 1.200.000visitors every year coming to enjoy its many fine hotels and restaurants, trendy nightclubs , casinos , beaches , sports facilities , museums, and the Medina (the old city).
120 hotels with a capacity of 40.000 beds extend over a 20 km strip from the north of town down south to a traditional down town area and bazaar , where wares are directed mainly at tourists .A hundred of tourists from different nationalities came to visit Sousse which pushed hotels to multiply their efforts in order to satisfy their customer needs’ by providing more animation activities , various games and cultural shows .
The region of sousse is equipped with an important series of hotels available mainly in 3 zones ; Sousse_ville , Elkantaoui ( port Elkantaoui is a tourist complex , it is host to a modern marina over 300 boats , sporting activities from water skiing to paragliding and several golf courses . it is popular with package holiday visitors ) and Chatt Meriem , where we find 104 hotels ( an upscale of more than 52% from 4 to 5 stars ) in addition to conference’s rooms with a capacity of 15.000 seats.

Really, the hotel’s occupation rate reached 110% between August 1st,2008 and August 10,2008 because all the hotels have been fully booked since the month of july,2008 . this is considered as a good sign of the great gains in tourism in sousse.

British tourists were the leaders in this year (591.467 overnight stays), then Germans (575.820 overnight stays) then Russians (234.555 overnight stays) and so on…
Entertainment Centers
Tourism in sousse has been developed due to the creation of a new animation center in Kalaa Kbira called Medinat Ezzahra in addition to the establishment of many animation complexes aiming to provide comfort , rest, music and dancing shows to the tourists.
