Hi Essem When I was over in Febuary I still had to pay tax for hubby as he is Tunisian but I did not have to pay tax for myself as I was told it was abolished. Has the law changed yet again? But they still get us by having to pay for the stamp on the passport when leaving the country 30 tdn.
When I have book a hotel for me and hubby in the past we have always had to show marriage certificate on arrival. and don't forget that you also have to pay the local tax for your spouse whilst at the hotel around 80tdn for 2 weeks stay. I was told by thomas cook that they can not book hotel...
I stayed at the hotel jinine last september. The rooms were clean, staff very helpful. the food is buffet style so you will always find something to eat and all inclusive they serve pizza and sandwiches by the pool every afternoon. I must admit animation was rubbish unless you are 7 yrs old lol...
I have just been looking at my marriage certificate and it has my maiden name on it instead of my previous married name. Is this legal or has a mistake been made? if so am I legally married. Has anyone else got the same on their marriage certificate.
So basically if a false address is used, obviously you will never know so the next step would be to go to Tunisia for a copy of their birth certificate.
Then where do you go for a copy of divorce papers?
Misha I have also been told that if you do not reply to the first letter sent they do actually send another 2. Then if still no reply the divorce will automatically be granted. You should also be sent a copy of the divorce papers.
I am very tempted to mention it to his friend maybe I will drop it in on the conversation when he next calls. He was actually visiting home a couple of months after the said called free land was given out so it would have been rip conversation.
Yes truly it is a very poor area it is right on the algerian border. He has a friend in the uk that keeps in touch with me and from the same town as him.
I am dying to ask him about this so called house but i think he will call hubby first before replying to me.
Hi Jane yes I am going over in January so hopefully will get to Sakiet. He is going to visit his mum next week so I am going to ask him to send me pics in and out of the house with family.
Yes I am aware that people had purchased there property but I just put it that way to him to see if he used...
Hi Shazza no he had not mentioned it again until i brought it up last night when talking to him. But when I offered for her to visit and she
declined she said if I could not drive (which I could not at the time ) she would get a cousin to come to sousse by bus and if I rented a car he would...
Jane yes I have been to sakiet and met his family. His father lives with his mum and my husband and brothers were brought up in that house till
the divorce then the mum and kids moved into rented accomodation. The first time I went there she was renting 2 outbuildings in someones back yard.
Thank you for your replys. The house his mum was living in when i last visited was rented so no goverment grants there. I am beginning to think
they have managed to buy the land themselves and was hoping I might help out if I saw for myself what was needed.
Yes they are poor this is why i am questioning the free land. Maybe it will help if I explain more. I was on holiday with my husband in sousse for 3 weeks in may and the family were wanting me to visit sakiet as I was awaiting an arm operation and in pain i did not want to have to travel further...
I know of 5 English women married to younger Tunisian men who have been quite happily married for years. Marriage is what you make of it
at whatever the age difference is or not. My previous husband was 20 yrs older than me and sulked like a child. Need I say more?
I am a bit baffled my husband told me that in may this year the goverment gave his divorced mum land to build a house on. She gets maintanance from her ex and financial help from 3 sons. Can anybody throw some light on this please.
