    Tunisian Romances

Most of the time this is not a big problem when a Tunisian man lives with a foreign woman as opposed to a Tunisian woman, but strictly speaking co-habitation is against the Tunisian law. It could mean problems, particularly for the Tunisian party. Someone I knew didn't get charged with anything...

    Tunisian Kitchen

In Tunisia they say that a pregnant woman must be given what she wants or the child will get a birthmark shaped like the thing the mum didn't get. As for the m'loukhia it is not very difficult to make, mainly time consuming in my opinion...Then again the mum-in-law might be happy being the...

Does anyone know how to deal with Love Rats/Players/Losers/Bezness boys

Welcome to the forum. I'm glad you will be going back to Tunisia and yes I agree - not all the men there are rats. Who knows though, maybe the man in your life is neither Tunisian nor English... wait and see! Tunisia has so much to offer on its' own though, man or no man.

    Tunisian Kitchen

Thanks. No problems Roulla, we can't all like the same things. Cinnamon, though...? Must have been a slightly different recipe. Yes mum-in-law cooked this a few times while I was in Tunisia and I made it here with powdered m'loukhia leaves brought from Tunisia. In shops here I can only...

    Getting Married In tunisia

Yes I know, it has always been that way... it is funny how the Tunisian government picks and chooses when it wants to be Muslim or not. A Tunisian woman can't get married to a non-Muslim, although a non-Tunisian Muslim is fine. But, if Tunisia is a Muslim country, then why do the police harass...

    Getting Married In tunisia

You mean the U.S. takes upon itself to tell people they are not married? Or is this that they declare ppl got married with the wrong intent (only for papers) and therefor won't issue visas? You will still be married though. This finance visa, is that the fiancée visa? You can get that in...

    Getting Married In tunisia

As for the validity of the birth ceritificate, it actually varies from place to place. I think I had only 3 weeks which is not such a big problem here as you just go the the office and they give it to you straight away - or you phone in and get it in the mail in one or two days. then it's "just"...

    marrying in tunisia

Like the others have stated, no it is not legally possible for two non-Tunisians to have an official wedding or similar ceremony that will be legally registered. A blessing as suggested above, which does not need to involve any paperwork, is of course possible, but nothing legally binding.

    Tunisian Kitchen

I like m'loukhia, my husband loves it, and I have prepared it myself so watch it or I will post photos! ;-) As for the Tunisian dinner I would too suggest chorba, brik (if you can find the wraps, not possible anywhere near where I live) and a tagine, plus a salad and indeed a couscous or a...

    Charles De Gaulle Airport, Paris

Hi, I have no idea about showers but hope you find the info that you need in the threads above. My experience is as in the last message, it can be very crowded at times and there will be no cutting in line just because you are about to miss your flight (I found half-way through a very, very long...

Older women married to younger Tunisian men

Coyote, I do not necessarily agree that even those who start practicing their religion later in life will want an "innocent born muslima" and that is also not required in Islam, as you stated a woman who marries a Muslim man does not even need to be a Muslima herself. Did you mean that you...

    marrying in tunisia

Yes I thought you meant it "in general" so to speak but of course when it comes to another country you really don't know what happens... you might get to walk in a "parade" with relatives and all going to the party if you have one, with everything being video-taped... Kris put his wedding video...
