Hi, I am currently looking for any type of work on Djerba. My boyfriend lives there and we have our own accomodation. I just need to find a job so I can stay there with him.

RE: looking for work on Djerba

Hi i have been working in Tunisia for nearly 2 years Normally the rule of the land is if there is work to be done it has to be done by a tunisian, There are exceptions if you are married which you would need to check.
The only other way to get work out there would be to become a holiday rep .
Thomas cook and first choice both work in derjba this is new for winter 06 summer o7. You would need to Here are there tel numbers good luck

Thomas cook
If any thing there would probably be looking for transfer reps to the airport but be warned the pay will be poor .and unsociable hours
First choice 0021673817236
Reps job is hard but good fun with an average wage of 600 pounds per month plus health insurance flights and accomodation if needed.

Hi all, I'm kate. I'm planning to to move to Tunisia as soon as I can. I will be there this end December - beginning January 2007 for 10 days. Are there any recruitment agencies that take care of graphic designers?:)

There are 2 recruitment agencies that I contacted nearly 2 years ago when I was making general enquiries; Addeco and Manpower both in Tunis. I was making enquiries about Executive Assistant banking jobs, and English speaking investment banks as that’s by background. Adecco were very friendly and advised me to get my cv translated into Arabic and French and she would market my cv. Her clients were mainly in the Tunis, the commerce area. I didn’t pursue it as I was just making enquiries. Not sure what the likelihood would have been to get an office job, probably zilch I think considering I don’t have either language! I've got the contact details somewhere if anyone wants them.

Also, I always see jobs on monster.com for Tunisia, as well as other sites on yahoo/ google, mainly the engineering/specialised type of jobs.

I find this quite interesting. Is this a way to keep "outsiders" from settling
there? If someone wanting to move to Tunisia can't find a job, it's a way
to keep the population local and not welcome people from other countries
to move and live there?

I tried to get a job in a similar role a few years ago. I think it might be a bit easier now though. Can you speak the language? That would be key.

Seseme, honestly, it will not be easy to get a job. Non-Tunisians are not permitted to do jobs that Tunisians could normally fill. :( You will just have to put your CV out there and see what happens. If a company wants to hire you, they have to get special permission to do so - it is something that only they can apply for.

Good luck to you!

hi everyone is there a possibility for a non tunisian (arab) woman to have a job in tunisia before obtaining the tunisian nationality (married to tunisian stayed here for 5 years and has children)
in case i got the divorce (he is a rat and more he made my life hell and made me lose everything) do i have the right to get a loan to start a project or something
please ideas will be appreciated i'm highly qualified just give me hints to move where i can post CV conditions for loans and so on
Your English is very good, have you considered Hotel work, that might be an option. You say "in case" you get the divorce, if you have medical evidence of the violence how can you NOT get one? Have you made no friends in the 5 years you have been there? Not even other mothers....do you not live near other people??
