To mark the upcoming release of his film "Bastardo", an ambitious project that he began writing in 2007, the director Belkadhi Najib talks about the plot of the film, of the source of information which the work and political connotations of the story are built upon.

Indeed, the film tells the story of Mohsen, starring Abdelmonem Chouaîet, who seeks to take over a poor neighborhood whose inhabitants are left to themselves, thanks to a GSM antenna placed on top of his house.

Most critics spoke of it having a likeness to Italian comedy movies and more specifically Ugly, Dirty and Wicked by Ettore Scola. This interview was therefore an opportunity for us to get to know what sort of relationship Belkadhi has with this genre of world cinema.

The film will be in cinemas from 8th December.
