Tunisia tourism growth
Tourism continues to grow in Tunisia as the latest figures show big increases in the number of people visiting the country.
For many years Tunisia has been a popular holiday destination for people from all over the world and this appears to remain the case, reports La Presse.
In total, the number of tourists visiting the country up to September of this year increased by 3.4 per cent compared to the same period last year, according to the Tunisia National Tourism Office.
That represents a total of 5.13 million visitors and is a signal of the strong tourism sector that currently exists in Tunisia.
The majority of visitors made the trip from Europe, with French, German and Italian tourists accounting for a large percentage of the numbers.
Visitors from more local countries also saw rises, with around 1.1 million Libyans, 761,000 Algerians and 25,000 Moroccans visiting the country.© Adfero | More Tunisia News
