Airline Emirates is planning to offer passengers the ability to integrate their Apple iPods with the in-flight entertainment systems.

Emirates, who have recently started offering five-flights-a-week to Tunisia, believe that the high-tech solution will ensure customers enjoy their time onboard.

The system will be one of the world's first in-flight iPod integration systems and users will be able to access a wide range of music and videos via their own iPods.

It is expected that the new iPod seat system, to be implemented by Panasonic Avionics Corporation, will be introduced by the middle of next year and will also allow passengers to charge their device whilst travelling.

Emirates' integrated iPod seat connection is scheduled for introduction mid-2007. It will also provide a constant power source to ensure that passengers?€™ iPods are charged for the duration of their flights.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman and chief executive of Emirates, said: "We have been a leading innovator of in-flight entertainment since introducing the world?€™s first seat-back screens in 1992."

He added: "Pod integration keeps us at the cutting edge of entertainment technology, and together with our existing in-flight systems will significantly enhance the enjoyment of flying with Emirates for thousands of our passengers who travel with their iPods."© Adfero | More Tunisia News/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>
