Tunisia's tourism revenue
Revenue generated by tourists in Tunisia has grown in-line with government forecasts.
The figures, released by the Central Bank of Tunisia, show that the country saw $1.9 billion in revenue for the tourism sector in the first 11 months of this year.
That signals a five per cent year-on-year increase compared to the same period in 2005.
Government officials expect tourism revenue to grow to $2 billion by the end of the year, with record numbers of visitors.
Forecasts for the whole of 2006 put the number of foreign tourists to have visited Tunisia at 6.5 million.
