Was taken to Genoa in Italy's Serie B when former Tunisia coach Francesco Scoglio took charge at the start of the season.
Has been in and out of the national team for years since first being involved in the 1994 African Nations Cup.
Tunisia performed badly that year and, as a result, Bouzaiene found himself among those out of the running as the squad was shaken up.
