Tunisia's first desert golf course

A new golf course has been opened in Tunisia, offering holidaymakers a game with a difference.

The country’s tourism minister, Tijani Haddad, opened the course in Tozeur on November 13th, reports website Magharebia.com.

It is the first desert golf course in Tunisia and the hope is that it will attract more tourists to the country.

Funding for the 18-hole project was provided by the government, as it aims to make desert tourism more popular.

Costing ?‚¬4.8 million (?£3.3 million) to design and build, the course was created by Californian architect Ronald Fream.

The course is on the fringe of the Sahara Desert and covers 25 hectares.© Adfero | More Tunisia News
