Hi Everyone

This is my first time using this part of the site, I normally just have a look at whats happening.

I am traveling to Mouradi Palm Marina in PEK on Sunday 26th July from Newcastle for 7 nights. My problem is I am travelling alone, which it has been a very long time since I attempted anything like this!!

I had two seperate people pull out due to money problems etc. and I didnt want to miss out.
I have been to Abou Soffiane twice last year, once with my kids and once with my friend so I know the area but not the hotel.

Is anybody going at the same time? I dont think I will have a problem during the day if the hotel is anything like the Abou Soffiane but Im pretty terrified about sitting myself at night for my food and drinks etc.

Im very sociable so any of my friends that know Im going alone dont think I will have a problem meeting new people.

But Im looking for some advice:

1) is the hotel OK for single females
2) is there a mixture of ages, groups etc. (I am 41 but act and look much younger!)
3) is there any decent trips available from the hotel (Im going with Thomas Cook, dont normally do trip but think it would be good way to meet people)

Thank you very much in advance for any help at all

Kazlucy xx

Hiya,

Jus asked hubby and his friend used to work there - he says its a lovely hotel (but outside of port el kantaoui) He says u will be fine there alone. And they offer trips there too.

I travelled alone to tunisia in 2006 - had the time of my life and made sum life-long friends. Really enjoyed the experience.

Hope u hav a lovely holiday and lots of fun!!!

Thanks for all the advice. I know what the guys are like there, I did sort of get to know one last year but we stopped chatting a while back. I might try and track him down again and see how he is doing?

Thats another thing I must ask: When I was there last year and a guy would ask you for coffee...what exactly does that mean? I did go for coffee with the one guy I spoke of and we smoked some shisha and we went for some food. With this particular guy things did get a lot more serious, I met his family, we had great fun.

But I need to know that if you agree to go for coffee is it taken as more? I do love the cafes there but I would be worried to accept an offer to coffee if it looked like it was something it wasnt.

First, have a great holiday, you will probably meet up with people on the plane for a start of lol, and as for the "coffee" well, what would YOU like it to mean???
if you are invited, and want to accept an invitation FOR COFFEE, JUST COFFEE make it plainly known!

I agree completely with the above statement!

The hotel is set on a lovely part of the beach with a great pool area for during the day - you will be 'gently encouraged' to take part in the activities during the day by the pool!

I've always had a room overlooking the pool which is really nice.

Re- attention for people, decide what you want and make it clear.

And most of all enjoy and have fun.
