I think it is form the French but in common life they do not pronounce it in french way. They say more like it would be Italian - dakurdo. I have heard it in northrern Tunisia, in part where Italians were ruling the town for many yeras past in the history, so may be it is local.

Dakurdo means similar like in France - of course or OK, good

Like I just told you - I live here!! I think you mis heard the word. There is very little Italian spoken in this country - it's either Tunisian dialect or French and the dialect is different in different regions. For example we don't differentiate between the male and female you in Bizerte but where my family comes from in the south they do.

Hi my arabic isn't perfect as I'm still learning myself khaled zaram, but I do recognise some of these words...'sava' is how are you in french.. 'twachachtkom' looks like 'miss you' in arabic.
