Hi everyone ... my husband is here on a spouse visa. Does anyone know if he can apply for a provisional driving licence? ...Thanks in advance.

Yes he can, no problem. My husband did when he came.

Thanks Jane ...can you recall how long it took because I dont want to send his passport off and not get it back in time for our holiday

I think it only took a couple of weeks Bascar.

Hii jane i was filling my app for a driving licence d1 it said that to apply for gb driving licence u must b normally resident in the uk for more than 185 days i did not undestind if its for Eu country or for evry one who came live in uk

I know, however we applied after about 2 months and it was fine, he got his provisional....he did already have a Tunisian driving license so don't know if that made a difference...don't think it did.

Hubby applied after being here only a couple of weeks and got it no problem. He didn't have a Tunisian licence.
